ADEFAM awards Accessible Madrid as the most innovative Madrid business project

In addition, it awards its 2024 Family Business Prize to the Sánchez Abia family, owners of Sagital, and recognizes the initiatives of IESE Business School, Enplast, and Ansorena.


Madrid, April 10. - The Family Business Association of Madrid (ADEFAM) has distinguished Accessible Madrid with its Special Mention for the Most Innovative Madrid Business Project. Founded by Arturo Garrido in 2013, the company was created to meet the tourism demand of people with disabilities.






Accessible Madrid is dedicated to providing comprehensive travel and accommodation services in Madrid for people with disabilities. This pioneering and innovative project contributes to making tourism a social good accessible to everyone.



Accessible Madrid manages adapted accommodations (hotels and apartments), transfer services, and personal assistance. It also collaborates with various public administrations (local, state, European, and international) and private organizations in different R&D projects to reduce mobility barriers.







Alongside Accessible Madrid, other businesses and entities that drive the economic and business activity of the region in different fields have been recognized. These include the IESE Business School for providing the most support to entrepreneurship in the Community of Madrid; Enplast as a company leading the way towards sustainable business practices; and ANSORENA as the best centennial commerce in Madrid.



Furthermore, the ADEFAM awards annually distinguish a Family Business in the region, this year awarded to the Sánchez Abia family, owners of the Madrid company Sagital, one of the largest Spanish corporations operating in the general services outsourcing sector for businesses.



The ADEFAM 2024 Awards celebrate their sixth edition under the sponsorship of Credit Suisse A UBS Group Company. This entity, aware of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and family businesses, especially regarding business growth, family governance, and wealth transition, cooperates with renowned institutions in the field of entrepreneurship, family business, and philanthropy.

The jury for the 2024 Family Business Award included Victoria Plantalamor, president of ADEFAM; Andrés Sendagorta, president of the Family Business Institute; Rocío Albert López-Ibor, Madrid Community's Minister of Economy, Finance and Employment; Concepción Díaz de Villegas, General Director of Commerce and Hospitality of the Madrid City Council; María Teresa Enciso, Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Rey Juan Carlos University; Emilia Pérez, Director of Economics at Agencia EFE; Clemente González Soler, president of Grupo Alibérico and 2018 Family Business of the Year award winner; José María Sunyer, president of Grupo GES and 2023 Family Business of the Year award winner; and Pablo Carrasco, CEO of Credit Suisse Spain.
