White Fire. Kunstmuseum Basel Modern Collection

With the Kunstmuseum Basel undergoing renovation, the Reina Sofía Museum (MNCARS) will run a travelling exhibition containing more than 100 masterpieces in the Swiss museum?s collections from the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries. This magnificent exhibition will last From 18 March until 14 September 2015.

Modern and contemporary paintings by such leading artists as Edvard Munch, Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Fernand Léger, Georges Braque, Le Corbusier, Jean Dubuffet, Alberto Giacometti, Yves Tanguy, Hans Arp, André Masson, Max Ernst, Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian, László Moholy-Nagy, Gerhard Richter, Mark Rothko, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Francis Picabia and Steve McQueen, among many others.

In addition, the Reina Sofía Museum will show, for the first time in Spain, 60 paintings belonging to two private collections in the Kunstmuseum Basel: Rudolf Staechelin?s and Im Obersteg?s. It?ll be a good chance to see paintings by Marc Chagall, Chaïm Soutine, Paul Gaugin, Vincent Van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Odilon Redon, Camille Pissarro, Pablo Picasso, Édouard Manet, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Alexej von Jawlensky and Ferdinand Hodler.
