Apolo XL - Stability

The wheelchair is designed to be safe and stable as long as the center of gravity is maintained during normal activities. Care should be taken when doing activities that change your center of gravity in the chair. Never go so far that it requires you to shift in the seat or lean out of the chair. When you have to reach objects that require you to bend over, make sure the front wheels point in a forward position that extends the wheelbase and stabilizes the chair.

Apolo XL - Ramps

Be sure of your own abilities, limitations, and strength before attempting to climb a ramp. A qualified professional should show you the correct techniques in negotiating ramps. Help is recommended when going up or down slopes greater than 10º. If you must stop on a slope, avoid sudden jerky movements when you resume movement. Due to the back angle of the chair, a sudden jerky movement could cause instability. Attempting to use the wheel lock brakes could cause accidental locking, tipping over to one side or a sudden stop. Avoid changing direction when going down a slope, as this could cause instability or tipping over. The Apolo XL chair has replaced the Drive Medical Sentra EC bariatric chair, from Ayudas Dinámicas.
