DocumentaMadrid 14. International Documentary Film Festival

One of the most special festivals has just started in Madrid. This is DocumentaMadrid 14, an appointment that no self-respecting cinephile can miss. Dedicated exclusively to the documentary world, brings the great titles that otherwise would cost to find, watch and enjoy.


Last year the winner documentary was "The Act of Killing," a highly acclaimed film directed by Werner Herzog, who won an enthusiastic response from critics and audiences.


The festival, takes place between la Cineteca Matadero Madrid, ( official venue of the festival ) and La Filmoteca Española. It started last April 30 and runs until May 11 with screenings of feature films, shorts, and Spanish documentary creations.


A total of 13 feature films, documentaries premiere in Spain - compete for the top prize of Best Documentary DocumentaMadrid.


In the Short Film section, 20 titles bring us to the most troubled parts of the world with real stories straight out of a fiction novel.
