Taberneros. More than just a tavern

Loading...

The best of Taberneros is their extraordinary wine selection: a cellar with more than 300 references (national, international, red, white, sparkling…). They are mainly innovative wines that you can pair with delicious and quite innovative tostas, pinchos and raciones. In their offers you will recognize typical dishes from Catalonia, Italy, France or Japan.

It is a small tavern usually crowded during “rush hours”. Lots of locals and hardly any tourists. The solution is getting there a little bit earlier; otherwise it is for sure that you will have to wait, although it is worth it. The perfect place to go with friends or a couple. It was chosen as the best tapas bar in 2007 by El Mundo / Metrópoli.

The menu offers dishes such as tapas (rations and skewers), traditional cuisine with touches of modern and fusion that give originality but without excess. Not a very extensive menu but everything they offer is beautifully cooked and it shows that quality matters. Ceviche, ribs, curry, foie gras and octopus. The 'dragon's eye," which is a fried rice dish with some pork and bacon in it is amazing. Try the pork cheek risotto, mozza +figs and the red peppers (not spicey) stuffed with oxtails.

Impressive wine list with a surprising number of references (300) both wines, cavas and champagnes, all served at the right temperature. For bartenders wine is as important as the food. It is possible to order some of their wines and champagnes by the glass.
